This is piece that I did a couple of weeks ago for a special project that I wanted to contribute to. You can find the details here.
The first image is at roughly 1.5 hours, strictly in ArtRage 2.5. After that point, I shifted the image over to Photoshop CS4, and started tweaking the layers, which brings us to the middle image, a little over 2 hours into the piece. Finally, in the last image, I’ve added in the detailing, character shadowing, a very small amount of photo use for texturing, and added the final tweaks.
Total time: 3.5 hours.

Since there’s a delay on publication, I’ve been given the okay to promote things a bit, and I’m tired of sitting on these, I’m going to post them. Here are 5 pieces of art that I’ve done for the first issue of the Dumpshock Data Haven online Shadowrun ‘zine/supplement. I’ll also make sure to post here when the first issue goes live (BTW, did I mention that it’s free?). That being said, I’m posting them in order of what I like from least to most.
I’m somewhat abivolent about this one. I like it, but I’m far too aware of the aspects during it’s creation that I wasn’t happy with.
Now, these two, I’m quite happy with.
Especially this one, the Troll, which is my favorite.
All were done in ArtRage and Ps CS4. Times varied. The two at the top took the least amount of time, as I was pushed an extended deadline at that point and had gone through to revise all of these.
Later today I’ll post process and procedure for a few of these.

Dagbar wanted a rogue gnome (and left the rest of the details up to me to build his character around). So I gave him one. 
Just a little over an hour, from start to finish. ArtRage and Photoshop CS4.
Moral of the story? Be careful what you ask for, you just might get it.

I’ll be starting the process of shifting posts over to here from my LiveJournal in short order. For those watching there, they’ll be posts you’ve already seen.
By the end of the weekend, I’ll be doing all posts from here, with them feeding into LJ in tandem. After that, I’ll start focusing on uploading pictures to the gallery and portfolio.

Yeah. I know. I’ve been horribly lax about posting here or making the site more functional. The more I think about it, the more I realize that I’m not so much a fan of this sort of layout, and would rather a more straightforward blog shell for the front page. I also don’t like that I can’t just import images inline from existing storage on the back end of my site.
Now, while I don’t expect that I’m getting much in the way of traffic here at the moment, here’s a link to various entries with some of the artwork that I’ve done recently:

Still don’t know what’s up with the Asterisk, but hey, I’ll smile and nod. What was I doing at Dragon*Con? Playing bodyguard for Tom Felton.
Had an enjoyable (if busy) time. Came out the other side with several new friends. Now it’s time for me to buckle down and get back to work here.

I’ve neglected this a bit, but intend on rectifying that after I get back from Dragon*Con (does it really need that asterisk?). I’ll be gone between now and next Tuesday, and as such, c0mment authorization may get delayed until then.
Maybe I’ll figure out how to work that damn WordPress iPhone app that I have. Maybe. Let’s not hold our breath…
I will have regular email access while there, so I can be reached that way if need be. Hopefully I’ll finally get around to actually uploading more artwork and fleshing out the site when I get back.

Apparently, you can’t just shift art from an old directory to a new WordPress directory. Everything has to go through WordPress. So, I’ll be fumbling my way through that later this evening or in the wee hours.
Portfolio contents will change as I upload more, in order to reflect the best pieces out of those that are currently uploaded. All pieces in the portfolio will be echoed in category-specific albums as well, once I’ve got those started.

Hello All.
Just got back from GenCon late last night.
There’s still some work that needs to be done on the back end of the site apparently, so if you run across any quirks or bugs, please feel free to drop a line and let me know.
Over the next week or so, we’ll be working on other aspects of the site, which will likely be an ongoing endeavor– I’m an artist, not a web designer. ;)
That being said, the Portfolio area is currently up and functional with a few pieces, with more starting to be added later this week. That area will stay to a dozen pieces or less once I’ve filled it up. There will be a general Gallery area up soon as well.
Today I’ll be labeling pictures with their appropriate titles, as currently they show up with the default file name. Hopefully I’ll get to the descriptions as well.
Finally, I should be addressing emails in the next day or so. Thank you for your patience.

I don’t think this will affect more than a few people, but I’m still putting it here to keep the confusion down.
The homepage for this site, as well as the locations of other aspects, will be changing shortly. More importantly, the domain name will be changing. I have no clue how much of this will affect things like RSS feeds and such. These, and other overhaul aspects, will be for the betterment of the site as a whole, both for navigation purposes, as well as for increased exposure for the site and my artwork.
Don’t worry, the current www.parrackstudios.com link will still work for getting to the core page, remaining as both a legacy link and a link for those who remember that domain for tracking me down. However, starting this next week, the new, primary domain name, will be www.artimancer.com (with .net and .info also leading to the site). This new domain name will probably not be “live” until at Monday or so.
Leprechauns has been backburnered, as I’m working on more time-sensitive portfolio projects, and I’ve opted to hold on it until I’ve got a good 7-10 day buffer.
At the very least, a starter gallery will be in place before GenCon. The plug-in used for it may be changed after GenCon, but that probably won’t cause much issue.
